You have something else on your system that is causing this. It rarely jumps over 3 even with everything on Ultra settings at 4K resolutions. It could be an API creating a huge number of faults and/or massive debug documents. It could be an antivirus program going haywire for some reason. It could be an instance of another program running in the background. It could be functions created by one of the overlays you're using. The game starts out using about 2-3 gigs of ram, then slowly climbs as I move about the world. I feel I'd be having more profound performance issues if my CPU wasn't up to the task. Just to clarify, I'm not really having any performance issues until I've been playing for a couple hours and TW3 begins using 7+of my 8 gigs of RAM. I'm still unable to wrap my head around why my CPU would cause my RAM to shoot up. It's an older processor, but from my understanding processors in general haven't improved meaningfully since 2009.

I seem to get stuttering when I play at full screen, so I have to knock the resolution down a bit and play windowed, but I figured that was a combination of poorly optimized texture streaming bumping up against a mid ranged GPU.įallout 4 would also be a pretty CPU intensive game and it runs at 50-60 FPS with most everything maxed. I've put about 30 hours into the game and the Phenom II x4 965 seems perfectly capable of running it I usually get around 50fps with a dip in cities with settings on medium-high. Why don't you send a ticket into CDPR and see if the Phenom II meets minimum specs. I use an i7 4790K 4.0 GHz, the top of the list on this same page, and the game dips below 50 FPS at times on my system.

The Phenom II x4 965 is well below even an i5 2000 series. I'm not convinced your processor can run the game. Your issue is more related to your hardware's capability, I believe. Eventually, the program seems to just crash out of the blue. Just as commonly, memory leaks have no outward sign.

Memory leaks will result in your RAM being used up incrementally (possibly manifesting itself as increasingly poor performance over time, but not necessarily) until you receive an out-of-memory error code either through the game's debug or through a Windows system fault.
